On our way to Alishan, we made a stop at MiTuo Temple (彌陀禪寺). This temple was constructed in 1752. The centerpiece of the temple is a golden statue of the Mi Tuo Buddha. The Zen temple's roof is adorned with golden glazed tiles and complemented by dark brown beams and columns, creating a solemn atmosphere that distinguishes it from regular temples. Additionally, there is a "Bazhangxi Yidu Monument" and a "Yimin Tower" within the temple grounds. The temple's master, born on July 2, 1949, in Longtan, Neimen Township of Kaohsiung, goes by the name Zhang. He frequently sought teachings from Sanbao and eventually became a monk at Taoyuanshan Temple. After completing his studies at the Buddhist College, he delved into the three Tibetan scriptures and later chose to reside in secluded mountains and hills.
Although I couldn't find much information about this place, the temple's garden showcased at least three different varieties of cherry trees. The white and dark pink cherry trees had already shed most of their blossoms, but another variety with bright pink flowers was in full bloom during our visit. While a large part of the garden was off-limits to visitors, it still provided a delightful view.
