Dinning at All-you-can-eat Buffet in Taichung - Eat Together Buffet 饗食天堂

Happy New Year!!

My husband will be changing jobs in the new year, so we decided to make the most of our last few days off and go on a little trip. His current job provided him with coupons to use at various restaurants, most of which are in Taipei, Hsinchu, or Taichung. Unfortunately, there aren't many options in Tainan. Taichung seemed like the best choice since we could drop off our kids at my parent's-in-law's place in Yunlin. However, we started our drive quite late as it was already the afternoon.
We headed to Eat Together Buffet (饗食天堂) located in Taichung Top City Mall. We arrived around 2 PM, but the buffet didn't open until half an hour later. So, we took the opportunity to explore and admire the Christmas Trees.

At 2:15 PM, we went to the 11th floor and were shocked to find the place already filled with people. The waiting line extended from the front doors all the way to the elevators and even beyond, under other shops. Since it was our first time here, we didn't know we had to go to the registration table first. Instead, we waited in line unnecessarily. We had to leave the line to book a table and then go to the back of the line again. It seemed impossible for us to get a table with so many people waiting. However, to our surprise, we were able to get in, and there were still some empty tables! It didn't feel as crowded as we initially thought.

There were plenty of food choices, including various sushi, sashimi, salads, soups, roasted and braised meats, seafood, fruits, desserts, drinks, and even some alcoholic beverages. It was difficult to try every single dish as we quickly became full. The food was delicious, and the chefs worked non-stop to refill the dishes that ran out. The waitstaff constantly cleared our dirty plates and glasses. It was unlike any other place we had been to before.

Dinning at All-you-can-eat Hot Pot in Yunlin - Chien-Yen Shabu Shabu 千葉火鍋

Happy birthday to me! Ah, I'm getting old... Sometimes I feel old, but I'm not even 30 yet.

We went to Chien-Yen Shabu Shabu (千葉火鍋) in Douliou, which is an all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant. I used to avoid hot pot places, but for about a year now, I've been in love with hot pot restaurants. Well, maybe not all of them, but some are really nice.

Chien-Yen Shabu Shabu offers a wide variety of prepared dishes, cakes, ice creams, a salad bar, drinks, and, of course, a variety of food to cook in your hot pot soup! They also have a special soup flavor that I haven't seen in other shops - Mongolian hot pot. It combines sour and spicy flavors, although I couldn't really taste it that well. Maybe it's because I'm used to eating spicy or strongly flavored food.

The price for the all-you-can-eat experience is 399NT (+10% service fee). There is also car parking available in front of the building, and it's free if your order exceeds 500NT. As a birthday treat, you can get a 25% discount, and the person accompanying you gets 10% off. The discount is valid for the entire month.
